The purpose of the symposium: to bring together engineering-minded researchers and physicians dedicated to synergistic work on the nervous system, and to promote the importance of neural engineering.

This symposium is collaboratively hosted by Gulf Coast Cluster for NeuroEngineering, the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at Rice University, the Department of Neuroscience at Baylor College of Medicine, and the Neuroscience Research Center at the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston.

The Gulf Coast Consortia is a collaboration of Rice University, Baylor College of Medicine, University of Houston, University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston, University of Texas Medical Branch at Galveston, University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center and the Institute of Biosciences and Technology-Texas A&M Health Science Center.
